Voices of Bean

Voices of Bean is a group of ordinary people living in the electorate of Bean, covering Canberra’s south side and Norfolk Island. We want everyone to have a voice in our democracy. Our goal was to listen to you, then to find and support an independent candidate who can fight for your issues at the federal election.

Voices of Bean Endorses Jessie Price

Voices of Bean endorsed Jessie Price to run as the community-backed independent candidate for Bean.

At the announcement event on Saturday 30 November 2024, Voices of Bean co-founder Sam Oram described the community-building journey of Voices of Bean, the candidate selection process, and then handed Jessie a ‘beangong moth’ as symbol of Jessie taking the campaign forward from Voices of Bean.

From this foundation, the Jessie Price campaign grew with the support of many new volunteers, and almost won at the 2025 election. Bean is now Labor’s most marginal seat. Jessie Price intends to run again at the 2028 election. This community movement will continue to engage with the people of Bean to discuss the issues and work together towards solutions. Please join us.
